Paula Crosby is a Counsellor, Trainer, Supervisor.
Paula holds an MA in Integrative Counselling; Cert Ed; HND in Counselling; HNC in Counselling; Certificate in Supervision. She is also an Accredited Registrant with The National Counselling Society as well as being a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Paula has over 20 years counselling experience in a range of organisations dealing with Drug/Alcohol misuse, Domestic Violence, Childhood Abuse, Bereavement, Family/Relationship problems, Adolescence, and other common counselling issues, as well as running a private practice offering counselling and supervision.
Paula is primarily trained as a Psychodynamic Counsellor but works and teaches in an integrative way, strongly believing that it is very difficult to fit a client into one theory, recognising it is more beneficial to apply an understanding of theories to client issues to ensure the client always receives the best service possible. She also has a very good knowledge and understanding of Humanistic Theories and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and believes they all have equal importance and a place in the counselling relationship.
As well as her counselling work she has also been a lecturer in counselling, teaching from level 1 (beginner) to level 5 (practitioner status) programmes in South Tyneside and County Durham for over 18 years. She is also a qualified counselling Supervisor.
Paula is very enthusiastic and has a strong passion for her work as a counsellor and trainer and always strives to give the very best service to all who work with her.
PC Counselling and Training Ltd have recently received the following feedback from one of the North East’s prestigious counselling placement providers who have been working with PC Counselling and Training now for several years:
We have finished our volunteer recruitment this year and we had 40 applications and selected 6 volunteers. I thought I would pass on that there was a significant difference in the calibre of applications we received from students attending your course and those of other training organisations. From application to interview, we were so impressed with the knowledge and skills of your students and the way they were able to understand and then articulate the counselling process….. We received applications from the majority of training providers in the North East and your students were definitely the stand out. I thought it would be nice to feed this back to you as it really shows the level of training you are providing and what competent students you are producing!
Even during the recent Pandemic, PC Counselling and Training Ltd have been able to continue to deliver all of their counselling training courses through blended learning, working online via video calls as well as delivering face to face when it was deemed safe to do so and withing Government guidelines. This has allowed the students to become experienced in counselling using a variety of platforms.
